The market takes place every Thursday (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM) outdoors, right in front of Sainsbury's in Kempston, with the added bonus of free parking. What really stood out to me was the wide variety of stalls — from fresh eggs, homemade cakes, and teas, to greeting cards, quiz books, ladies' clothing, and bread. The vendors are very polite and helpful, creating a welcoming vibe that makes shopping there a real pleasure. Prices are also very competitive, making it a great alternative to larger supermarkets. If I were to mention a downside, the market is relatively small, and its cozy scale might not appeal to everyone. Also, while the selection is charming, it doesn't change very often, so regular visitors might sometimes find it a bit repetitive. Additionally, I would give it 4 out of 5 stars — the area could really use a little bit of tidying up. Some maintenance is needed, especially fixing the leaking pipes around the parking area, and a fresh coat of paint would definitely make the surroundings look more inviting. All in all: The Saxon Centre Market is a great spot for weekly shopping and supporting local traders, as long as you appreciate a calm, modest atmosphere with room for a little improvement.
